Treatment:
HIV/AIDs is treated through a combination of medications called antiretroviral Therapy, ART for short. These medications are not a cure for the disease. There is no known cure for HIV. The Medication just suppresses the virus so the immune system can recover to fight off infections and cancers. So the patient can live a longer and healthier life
HIV medication is separated into six groups:
-Non-Nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs)
-Nucleoside revers transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs)
-Protease Inhibitors (PIs)
-Fusion inhibitors (
-CCR5 antagonists (CCR5s)
-Integrase strand transfer inhibitors (INSTIs)
More than 25 HIV Medications in total. They are available to be put in combinations of 3 for beginners on the medication.
