What is HIV?
HIV is a virus that attacks CD4 cells (t cells) in the immune system that help fight off infections.
What is AIDs?
AIDs is the final stage of HIV . It is when your immune system is so damaged it becomes vulnerable to opportunistic infections. When the CD4 cells are below 200 per cubic meter of blood (200 cells/mm3) you have progressive AIDs.
What are T cells and What do they do?
T cells work with macrophages to fight off infections. Unlike macrophages T Cells can only fight off one type of virus, no this does not ,mean macrophages are stronger because they are not. There are two types of T cells the Killer T cells, that destroy infected cells, and Helper T cells that coordinate the attacks.
